What a difference a month can make. The difference between my fall break a month ago and my Thanksgiving break (which ends tonight) is astounding. As I’ve written about, my eating disorder tendencies resurfaced about a month and a half ago. I binged basically the entire time I was home on fall break. The binging and guilt put me in a terrible mood and I was unable to enjoy my family or friends while I was home. I’m happy to report that my Thanksgiving break was MUCH better. I have to be honest and tell you that I did have some “fat feelings” and I did break down in tears one time over food I ate, but I didn’t binge or restrict. I had a wonderful time with my family and my second family (the Kummerers!) And I’m completely rejuvenated to kick some major butt on final exams…which start in 2.5 weeks..AHH!
I thought I would do a little photo recap of my lovely Thanksgiving break.
Darren and I ran a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. It was a 3 miler, my longest distance to date, and my first time running with other people. The last half mile was hard, but I had an amazing time. I am definitely looking forward to doing more races in the future!
Emergency Diet Coke run right before our Thanksgiving feast. I clearly need the caffeine.
My mom makes a mean thanksgiving feast. Her stuffing is to die for! I had a plate full of stuffing, corn, mashed potatoes, and a dinner roll. Yes I skipped the turkey. I only like turkey in lunch meat form. I’m aware I have weird food preferences.
Pumpkin pie was for dessert! Made by yours truly
Following the feast, we played board games.
And napped…
And put up Christmas decorations! Westley wanted to help.
Friday I and my sisters made cupcakes with our adorable cousin Carly.
They were from a box mix, but they’re so darn cute! The hats were cut out from graham crackers. I do not recommend putting yourself through that torture.
Friday night I went out to dinner with Darren’s family. I ate a yummy chicken burrito thingy and had a really good time. Darren’s family is super nice to me. Saturday was spent watching the OSU/Michigan game with Darren. Michigan won which I’m super grateful for because Michigan win=happy boyfriend! Sunday Darren’s mom took Darren and I out to breakfast. Then, I packed up and headed back to school where I am now currently watching my lastest TV obsession, “Once Upon a Time”.
Happy Sunday evening
XOXO,
Jamie

I’m so glad to hear that Thanksgiving was a success! And congratulations on the 3-miler!
Yay thank you!
